How my journey began

My name is Shiloh. I’m from Woodinville, WA. I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the age of 38. I started my BJJ journey at Gracie Barra Kirkland and was there to get my blue belt. I then joined AMC in Kirkland, WA before needing shoulder surgery. I had the shoulder injury for 2 years and hoped it would go away but finally decided to see a doctor and immediately went into surgery and lots of physical therapy. Shortly after recovering from shoulder surgery, I went into treatment for breast cancer on my right side. I trained when I could between surgeries, but really ended up losing about 1.5 years of mat time. Finally healthy I was ready to go back to the gym. I earned my purple belt at my current gym T3MA in Redmond, WA.

At the age of 45, I’m now on the quest to participate in every IBJJF event they host before I get my black belt. My goal is to participate, not necessarily medal. I’m looking forward to sharing my progress with you on this journey!
